Our Approach to Teaching & Learning

At Kia Learning House, we believe that education should not only equip scholars with knowledge but also empower them to make a positive difference in their own lives and communities. True learning happens through doing. That is why we have adopted Project Based Learning as a core pedagogical approach. By engaging our young Maasai scholars in hands-on projects, we aim to inspire them to explore their potential, embrace new opportunities, and become active agents of change.

Through carefully designed projects, we integrate real-life challenges and tasks that resonate with the lives of our scholars.  We ensure that the learning experiences are meaningful, relatable, and applicable to their context. Whether incorporating traditional practices, cultural knowledge, or practical skills, we aim to make learning a holistic and inspiring journeys. Their farm duties, for example, contribute actively to the betterment of their health as well as those of their family and communities

We create endless opportunities  for our learners to develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration skills that are essential for success in their communities and beyond.

Rather than viewing subjects as isolated entities, we recognize that real-life challenges and complexities do not conform to neat disciplinary boundaries. By immersing our students in interdisciplinary projects, we equip them with the skills to synthesize information, think critically, and approach problems from multiple perspectives.

We want our students to see the interconnectedness of knowledge and develop a holistic understanding of the built and natural world.
